Whether you’re using a self-hosted WordPress site or leveraging a managed WordPress hosting platform, the most important thing is that you’re operating a WordPress website. Google loves WordPress for its professional and search-engine-optimized features.

When it comes to operating a professional website, the best blogging platform to leverage is WordPress. If you’re willing to operate an awesome-looking website, WordPress is the right choice for you.

Install the All-in-One SEO Plugin on Your Brand-New Site

Prior to creating content at all, you need to install the All-in-One SEO plugin on your website. This plugin will allow you to add XML sitemap, adjust website general settings, block bad bot, access your file editor, as well as add social meta.

The All-in-One SEO plugin is an alternative to the Yoast plugin which helps you manage the SEO activities and progress for your website. You don’t need the Yoast plugin once you’ve already installed the All-in-One SEO plugin on your site.

Install Other Crucial Plugins

Aside from installing the All-in-SEO plugin, you must also install other crucial plugins such as the social share plugin, email subscription plugin, contact form plugin, content-writing plugin and so many other plugins that are extremely-crucial for SEO.

There are crucial plugins that can help you build your website domain authority such as the Alexa rank plugin, broken link checker, as well as others. Hundreds of useful plugins are added to the platform for your blogging use. So, take advantage of these to build your site in search results.

Create High-Quality and Engaging Content Frequently

Content is king when it comes to building a website for search engine ranking. The link-building strategy works only if you always publish high-quality and engaging content on your blog. Without the frequent publishing of high-quality content, link-building is nothing.

How does content work for your SEO? How do you build a great brand using content? Note that your content must be informative, useful, helpful, creative, remarkable, compelling, and engaging for readers to keep coming back to read. Once you can build your site with such content, building an awesome brand in the online world is guaranteed.

Build Engagement with Your Site and Social Media Audience

When you create some quality time to get back to your readers on your site and on social media posts and pages, you’re building engagement with them and you’ll successfully keep them back to yourself.

Ask your readers to leave valuable and authentic comments on the post they’ve read and make sure to get back to them in earnest. There’s a higher probability that people will offer you comments than when you don’t ask them to leave comments after the reading.

To perfect site engagement, I would love to introduce the WA Site Comment 2.0 platform to you. On this platform, there are two different incentives namely: Revenue opportunity; and Comment boost.

Sharing posts on social media is the easiest thing to do when it comes to building your domain authority in the online world. In as much as we have the social signal in the top 200 ranking factors, it’s helpful to share posts in social media groups, posts and on pages.

To start sharing posts on social media, install a social share plugin on your site. You’ll be able to share, like, and follow posts if you install the Ultimate Social Share plugin. Although there are so many social share plugins that you can install on your site to start sharing posts immdiately after publishing, I use the Ultimate Social Share plugin on my own site.

  1. What’s your favorite plugin for building an email list? I’ve been struggling with Aweber and my free trial is about to run out without having gained a single subscriber.

Do you know of any free email list options that are good for someone that is really new to blogging? I tried mailchimp a while back and it was free, but it was really hard to use for someone like me.

    • Sorry about the bitter experience you had so far with MailChimp and Aweber! Currently, I simply use the Hello Bar tool to get subscribers to my website. It lets you set up your website to make it European GDPR compliant. They have both the free and pro versions and they help you collect subscribers’ emails while they deliver in your Hello bar account. Thanks for your comment!
